About African Future University

Fully online African digital university with French and English pathways.

Overview

African Future University’s tuition-free online PhD in African Development Studies is a research doctorate for candidates who will produce original work on political economy, public services, rural livelihoods, digital public infrastructure, or regional integration as they are lived. You will not be employed by the African Union and will not receive a professional practising licence. Supervision is identity-checked, timezone-aware, and bilingual (English and French) where the project requires. Fieldwork ethics treat rural and informal settings as sites of knowledge, not as colour. The examination fee is 80. The thesis must not be a consultancy brochure for a named donor.

Delivered fully online with live seminars, recorded lectures, and tutor support.
